Chris Hani District, Eastern Cape – The Police in Cala have detained two males for questioning in relation to the gruesome murder of a 22-year-old woman in the Tsemgiwe Administrative Area on May 15, 2024.
The incident came to light when a shepherd discovered the headless body of a woman while tending to his flock in the Ndaba Mountain region of Tsemgiwe.
The shocking discovery prompted an immediate police response, and a thorough investigation was launched.

As the investigation unfolded, two males were detained on Sunday, May 19, 2024, for questioning. Later that same day, in the afternoon, the head of the victim was found approximately 3 kilometers from the initial crime scene, adding to the horror of the case.
The woman has been identified as Uluntu Stuurman, a resident of the area. Her tragic death has sent shockwaves through the local community, with residents expressing their grief and outrage over the brutal nature of the crime.
