Confusion Surrounds Missing Person Report as Alleged Victim Comments on Social Media Post Implying She is Not Missing

Inanda, KZN – A report of a missing 20-year-old woman, Anezwa Kafile, and her 2-year-old sister, Lisakhanya Kafile, has taken a bewildering turn after the alleged missing woman began commenting on social media posts about her own disappearance.

The missing person alert was initially issued by Reaction Unit South Africa, calling for public assistance in locating Anezwa and Lisakhanya, who were last seen on Monday, 12 August 2024, in the Inanda area of KwaZulu-Natal.

According to the report, Anezwa, who is approximately seven months pregnant, had informed a cousin via Facebook that she was heading to a salon with her sister.

There has been no contact with the family since.

In a surprising twist, popular socialite Mandla Chris shared the missing person post on his Facebook page, only to have Anezwa herself respond in the comment section, denying that she and her sister are missing.

Anezwa’s comment read: “Sanibonani nonke bantu ababone le Post, I story sime kanjena ke mina nengane asilahlekile sihambile nje kamnandi ngenxa yokungahlaliseki kahle. Bona ke kokuhlakanipha kwabo babon kuthi abatshele abantu I story esingekho, ngoba bayazi ubaba wengane lencane unokufaka imali and bayabona sekusondele lezonsuku sebebona kuthi ababhale udoti ngathii ay ngeke kukwazi lengane engihambe nayo eya Mawamii and umawi esisanda kuMncwaba two weeks back so nje cela bandla ningalokhe niyikhathaza ngenTo engekho bayazazi bona bafani ingakho bathatha yonkinto yaMah emvakokuthi ashone ukuze kuzobe engathi bayasthanda or bazosnaka.

Translated, Anezwa claimed that she and her sister are not missing but have simply left due to uncomfortable circumstances at home.

She also accused her family of fabricating the story to manipulate the situation because they are aware of her impending financial support from the father of her 2 year old sister.

She further denied being pregnant, stating, “7 months pregnant Cha bo naze nangazii shem ngingazazi minaa.”

Anezwa’s Facebook profile, named “AnenezwaRr Mbalenhle,” shows her last public post on 4 August 2024, which has added to the confusion among concerned community members.

Some Facebook users have speculated that Anezwa may be under duress, with others fearing that someone else could be using her account to mislead the public and authorities.

Compounding the mystery, Anezwa’s mother recently passed away on 22 July 2024 and was buried on 3 August 2024.
