In a tragic incident on Father’s Day, a serious head-on collision in Cliffdale, West of Durban, left two people dead and several others injured.
The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday when ALS Paramedics responded to the collision scene.
Upon arrival, paramedics found a devastating scene with two vehicles involved in a head-on collision, resulting in multiple injuries and entrapments.
Emergency services immediately dispatched more ambulances and Advanced Life Support Paramedics.

Upon assessment, it was discovered that one of the vehicles had three occupants. The front occupants, both males believed to be in their thirties and forties, were severely entrapped in the wreckage.
Despite efforts by paramedics, both men had sustained fatal injuries and were declared deceased at the scene.
The Ethekweni Fire Department and Netcare911 Rescue unit utilized specialized equipment such as the Jaws of Life to extricate the men from the vehicle.
Tragically, a four-year-old child seated in the rear of the same vehicle sustained critical injuries. Advanced Life Support Paramedics provided urgent care on the scene before rushing the child to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

In the second vehicle, approximately twelve occupants suffered various injuries ranging from moderate to serious.
They were stabilized on the scene by various ambulance services before being transported to various Durban hospitals for further care.
The circumstances leading up to the crash are currently unknown, and the South African Police Service (SAPS) was on the scene to investigate further.
