The Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation unit has made significant progress in the ongoing BHI Holdings Ponzi Scheme case.
Recently, Sona Pillay (54) and Michael Philip Adam (55) were arrested in connection with the scheme.
This follows the conviction and sentencing of Graig Roy Warriner (60) to 25 years in prison on 206 counts of fraud and one count of contravening the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act for operating an investment scheme without a license.

Pillay was apprehended on Friday, 31 May 2024, after attempting to flee the country. He was refused entry overseas and returned to South Africa, where he was met by the Hawks’ investigation team at OR Tambo International Airport.
Adam, on the other hand, surrendered to authorities on the morning of 3 June 2024.
Both suspects have since appeared in the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercial Crimes Court at the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court.
