Chairperson of Meter Taxi Association Shot in Pretoria by a Man from Inanda

Pretoria, Gauteng – Tragedy struck in Pretoria Central with the shooting of the chairperson of the Meter Taxi Association.

The incident occurred at the Pretoria Railway Station, sparking a swift response from local law enforcement.

Members of the Rapid Rail Police Unit, alerted by the sound of gunfire, immediately moved towards the scene.

Upon arrival, they encountered a man fleeing, brandishing a firearm.

When officers tried to apprehend him, the suspect opened fire.

In the ensuing exchange, the man was injured and subsequently arrested.

Further investigations revealed that the suspect hails from Inanda, KwaZulu-Natal.

He faces charges of murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm.

The victim, unfortunately, succumbed to injuries sustained during the incident, dying at the scene.

Meanwhile, the suspect is receiving medical treatment under police guard and is expected to appear in court once recovered.
