Female Traveller Dies at King Shaka International Airport

On the evening of Friday, June 21, a female traveller tragically passed away at King Shaka International Airport (KSIA) just before boarding a flight to Johannesburg.

The Airports Company South Africa (Acsa) reported that the woman experienced breathing difficulties while preparing to board FlySafair flight FA279, which was scheduled to depart at 8:45 PM.

Acsa’s media director, Tshililo Manenzhe, stated that a passenger services agent was dispatched to assist the woman at 8:40 PM.

Upon arrival, the agent found the woman unresponsive.

Paramedics reached the scene at 8:49 PM and administered advanced life support.

Despite their efforts, the traveller was declared deceased at the scene.

The cause of death remains unknown. The incident has been handed over to the South African Police Service (SAPS) for further investigation.
