Emergency Services Respond Swiftly to Serious Accident Near Umdloti
Today around 17:00, authorities received reports of a severe motor vehicle accident on the M4 near Umdloti.
On arrival, paramedics found two vehicles that had collided head-on, resulting in injuries to five people.
Emergency responders from IPSS Medical Rescue, CERT KZN, Durban North SAPS, and the Ethekwini Fire Department were quick to arrive on the scene.

Upon assessment, it was established that four individuals had sustained serious injuries. These patients were stabilized on-site by Advanced Life Support paramedics from IPSS Medical Rescue before being transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
One individual sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital by another private ambulance service.

The swift response and coordination among the emergency services played a crucial role in managing the scene and providing the necessary care to the injured parties.
The authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved in the collision.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the Durban North SAPS. Motorists are advised to exercise caution and follow traffic advisories while traveling in the area.
