Horrific Scene in Mamaila Village as Man Wheels Mother’s Lifeless Body in Public

Mamaila village, Polokwane, a 42-year-old man was arrested on the morning of Tuesday, 16 April 2024, after he was suspected of murdering his 69-year-old mother, Mamaila Moloi Matele.

According to local authorities, the suspect was seen wheeling his deceased mother’s body in a wheelbarrow, contained within a steel bath.

The situation escalated when neighbors reported hearing the suspect shouting and hurling insults at his mother, subsequently calling a neighbor to witness the grim contents of the wheelbarrow.

The discovery prompted immediate action from the community, leading to an attack on the suspect.

Police responded to the scene around 06:30 AM, where they found the woman’s body wrapped in a blanket inside the steel bath.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were called to the scene, where they declared Ms. Matele deceased.

In a swift response, police rescued the suspect from the community’s clutches and he was transported to the hospital under heavy guard.

The suspect has since been charged with murder as police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
