The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, has acknowledged reports from Eswatini about the imminent handover of two individuals apprehended there.

These suspects are set to be extradited to South Africa for their alleged involvement in a crime where a man was fatally shot and another narrowly escaped death in Berea on March 6, 2023.
The incident involved a passenger being killed while the driver, a woman, survived and sought help at a Berea fuel station. Investigations led to the identification and location of the suspects in Eswatini.
Lieutenant General Mkhwanazi expressed his appreciation for the Eswatini authorities’ dedication to combating crimes that span across borders and impact regional security.
He also highlighted the significant public and media interest in the murder case of Kienan ‘AKA’ Forbes and Tebello ‘Tibs’ Motsoane, assuring that any updates will be communicated promptly and directly to the families involved before public disclosure.
The investigation into Forbes and Motsoane’s murders is currently in a critical phase, with the police being cautious not to release any information that might jeopardize their efforts.
The case, characterized by its complexity and the vast amount of evidence to be sifted through, is led by prosecutors.
The police are committed to closing any gaps in the investigation before making any official announcements regarding its progress.
Commissioner Mkhwanazi has also commended the hard work and dedication of detectives who are tirelessly working to track down suspects and ensure that justice is served for the victims and their families.
