KwaShoba, Zakheni KZN – In a tragic turn of events, Lungelo Zenda, a resident of KwaShoba Ezingolweni, suffered severe injuries while bravely protecting young girls from inappropriate behavior by a newcomer in the area.
On the 29th of last month, which coincided with election day, Zenda observed a newly arrived individual, associated with the Ntobela family, misbehaving towards young girls in the community.
Determined to safeguard the children, Zenda confronted the individual to address the disturbing behavior.
The confrontation quickly escalated into violence. The newcomer, wielding a machete, attacked Zenda, severely injuring him.

Zenda’s hand was cut so deeply that it was left hanging by a thread, and it remains uncertain whether it can be saved.
Eyewitnesses, fearing for their own safety, were unable to intervene. The incident shocked the community and deeply concerned for Zenda’s well-being.
The community of KwaShoba is now urgently seeking assistance in locating the attacker, who fled the scene and remains unidentified due to his recent arrival in the area. Residents are urged to stay vigilant and report any information that might lead to his capture to the local authorities.
