Hazelmere, KZN – In a shocking incident, a man in his thirties was found bludgeoned to death with a discarded television on an unpaved footpath in Hazelmere, KwaZulu-Natal.
Residents contacted the Law Enforcement approximately 07:14 yesterday morning after discovering the lifeless body of the victim.
Officers were promptly dispatched to the scene and upon arrival, they were directed to where the man was lying in a prone position.
The victim had sustained severe blunt force trauma to his head and multiple lacerations on his face.
Pieces of broken, blood-stained glass from the discarded TV were found on his face and surrounding his body.
According to local residents, the TV had been lying on the footpath for several months. The deceased, identified as a resident of Hazelmere, was last seen at a local tavern the previous night.
As of now, the motive for the murder remains unclear. Authorities are investigating the incident and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
