Manhunt Underway After Triple Murder and Shooting in Nhlungwane area Inanda, Durban

Durban, KwaZulu-Natal – Authorities in KwaZulu-Natal are actively searching for several suspects involved in a violent crime spree that left three people dead and another person narrowly escaping harm.

The events unfolded in the Nhlungwane area of Inanda during the early hours of Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

According to police reports, officers were dispatched to Mpunzi Road after receiving reports of gunfire.

Upon their arrival, law enforcement discovered two victims—a man estimated to be in his early 40s and a 24-year-old woman—dead from multiple gunshot wounds on the roadway.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Just a short distance away, inside a cottage room, the body of a 50-year-old man was also found shot dead.

The violence began when the suspects opened fire on the man and woman on the street, then moved to a nearby house where they demanded the keys to a minibus taxi from the women inside.

The women managed to escape unscathed, and the assailants obtained a spare key for the vehicle.

The suspects continued their rampage, proceeding to the cottages where they killed the third victim and secured the original vehicle keys before fleeing in the stolen minibus taxi.

Police are investigating whether there is any connection between the two incidents.

As the manhunt continues, local authorities urge anyone with information to come forward and assist in bringing these dangerous individuals to justice.
