In Mbazwana, KwaZulu-Natal, a local school administrator, Mr. Msawenkosi Sunshine Zikhali, aged 57, was found deceased in a tragic circumstance at his home.
Late in the evening, Mr. Zikhali left his bedroom, ostensibly to use the restroom, but instead ended his life by hanging himself on a kitchen verandah using a rope typically used for tethering goats.
His wife discovered him, hanging by the neck, early in the morning.
The reasons behind Mr. Zikhali’s decision to end his life remain unknown at this time.
Family members and neighbors reported that the atmosphere at Mr. Zikhali’s home had been cheerful earlier, with visits from his older nieces and nephews, and there was no apparent distress or turmoil.
The community of Hangaza in Mbazwana, where Mr. Zikhali lived, expressed profound sorrow over his unexpected decision, describing it as deeply distressing.
Police have initiated an investigation into the death, which remains ongoing.
