Mthatha, Eastern Cape – In a shocking incident that has left the community of Corana reeling, a land transaction turned deadly when a son reacted violently to his mother’s sale of their property.

According to local sources, a woman sold a plot of land in Corana to a buyer without consulting her son.

When the son discovered the sale, he was furious and demanded that his mother return the buyer’s money.

The mother was unable to comply with her son’s demands, leading to an escalating confrontation.

On the day of the incident, the buyer arrived at the site to finalize the transaction. The son, still enraged over the sale, confronted the buyer.

In a tragic turn of events, he pulled out a firearm and shot the buyer at close range, killing him instantly.

The scene then took a further horrific twist as the son turned the gun on himself, committing suicide.

The community of Corana is in shock, grappling with the violent loss of two lives over a property dispute.

Residents expressed their disbelief and sorrow, stating that such acts of violence are rare in their close-knit community.

Police have cordoned off the area and are conducting an investigation.

Eastern Cape police spokesperson, Captain Siyabonga Mhlongo, confirmed the incident and stated that a case of murder and inquest has been opened.

“We urge community members to seek peaceful and legal resolutions to disputes to prevent such tragedies.”

The identities of the deceased have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
