Newlands, KZN – A tragic hit-and-run incident on the 4th of June 2024 has left the community of Newlands mourning the loss of a young scholar.
Willis Nyachuru, a dedicated student from Hillgrove Secondary School, was the victim of this heartless crime.
The teenager, originally from Zimbabwe, was in the prime of his secondary school education when his life was abruptly cut short.
The incident occurred when a vehicle struck Willis and fled the scene. In a stroke of fate, a piece of crucial evidence was left behind—a number plate that fell off the car as the driver sped away.
The number plate reads BL 14 PW ZN, which authorities believe could be the key to identifying and apprehending the driver responsible for this tragic event.
Hillgrove Secondary School expressed their condolences on their Facebook page, stating:
“As we hear of the sad passing of our respectful and dedicated ex-learner, Willis Nyachuru, we send out our heartfelt condolences to family and friends. 💔 May you find strength in God Almighty who sees us in all our struggles.”
