ZWEKITSHA – The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nomthetheleli Mene, has condemned the brutal and senseless killing of seven people, including an 8-year-old child, in the early hours of this morning, 19 May 2024.
Police were alerted during the early hours of Sunday morning about multiple shootings in the Nxanxashe location in Willowvale.
Six individuals (five males, including the child, and one female) were found mercilessly shot inside their Mazda 3 vehicle.

Another victim was discovered dead approximately a kilometer away in a Toyota Fortuner.
Nearby, police also found an abandoned VW Polo with bloodstains inside.
The ages of the deceased range from 8 to 45 years.
The motive behind these killings is still under investigation, and no arrests have been made.
Man to Face Charges for Killing Wife and Three Children
The identities of the victims are being verified and will be released once their next of kin have been informed.
The Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Investigation Unit is handling the case, investigating seven counts of murder.
Lieutenant General Mene is appealing to anyone with information related to these murders to come forward and assist in the investigation.
“The team of experienced detectives will be working tirelessly to uncover the truth behind these senseless killings. We are committed to providing the necessary resources and support to ensure a thorough and swift investigation. Such level of violence has no place in our society, and it is imperative that we unite to combat such heinous crimes,” she stated.
