Durban, South Africa – Members of the Umlazi South African Police Service (SAPS) apprehended five suspects during the early hours of yesterday morning.
The individuals were caught in possession of firearms and implements used for housebreaking, following a high-speed car chase initiated by vigilant police officers.
The arrest occurred after law enforcement noticed a vehicle speeding through the streets of Umlazi, prompting them to conduct a stop-and-search operation.
Upon inspection, police discovered multiple firearms and a variety of tools commonly used in burglaries. The findings raised immediate suspicions regarding the activities of the occupants.
Further inquiries revealed that the apprehended individuals were allegedly involved in a series of crimes targeting vulnerable citizens at bus stops and engaging in housebreakings within the Umlazi and Chatsworth areas.

Mrs Gwala said ”We can’t move freely in our neighborhoods because of these boys, they rob us on the road and they break into our houses at night. the place I am supposed to feel safe. thank you SAPS at least you are doing something and it gives us hope that maybe one day we will be safe.”
